This is bad. It's always sad to hear of a publisher in trouble.
 

It ma yet come right--but it seems only fair to let people know when 15 (!) of a publisher's writer have cause to leave them.
 

I heard something about the woman who's currently running it (I cannot remember her name to save my life) stepping down. Anyone else heard that?
 

I dont really like to get into unconfirmed runours. As far as I know the owner is staying but the chief editor is leaving. If anyone knows more please let us know by posting or emailing.
 

Tracey West announced she would step down on Wednesday. I am a former VP author, and I did get my final payments after my rights were returned.

To my knowledge the owner has yet to make a statement.
 

As of 2-15-2007, the owner of Venus Press has not addressed the future of the publishing company. It is drifting downward without a leader at the helm.

I, too, received the rights to my books and was paid in full before Tracy West stepped down.

What a sad ending to a wonderful publisher.
 

It's far more than 15 authors at this point. Most of their catalog is empty, the owner is no where to be found, and I've heard serious rumors of a class action lawsuit.

The authors involved in the apparent lawsuit have also found out that the owner never used her legal (ie REAL name) with the company- so they have no idea who she really is.
