My husband knows everything I read and write. And watch. In fact, we'll often have this conversation:

Me: Are you asleep?
Him: Not yet. Why?
Me: I'm going to watch one of my gay porns.
Him: Go ahead.
Me: It won't keep you awake?
Him: Nope. *snore*

Sometimes we'll have deep conversations about whatever new kink I've got this week. The "I think I'm turning in a 'size queen.'" conversation was actually kinda funny.

He's got his own porn. I don't care. Whatever makes him happy.
 

My husband knows what I write. It's hard to tell what he thinks of it. I know he's proud that my first ER book found a home, but he knows I don't want him reading it--not because of any sex issues, but because it's not his type of fic. He either reads Dean Koontz or straight porno. He doesn't like his plots interrupted by sex, or his sex disrupted by plots.

Me, I know what he looks at. I think it might bother me if he only looked at perfect, taut, toned and augmented porn stars, but he looks at large women, skinny women, over forties, over fifties, anything you might find out there as long as it's female and legal. I don't think of it as cheating any more than I think reading my dirty books is.

I think men have an easier attitude about it because their libido is more immediate. Anything that might get their old lady in the mood is viewed as a good thing. Women could maybe be more prosaic in these matters. If he's wacking off to porno and satisfying her needs in bed, he probably has no energy left to actually cheat.

He "borrows" my reading material.

He reads my stories and comments on them. He even pimps them to his co-workers.

So far, the only funny bit was him saying he wasn't going to do research for my first m/m.

I am only a reader, and got my significant other to read my romances. He's been hooked for close to a year now *grin* His comment: Good writing is good writing.
 

I'm very open with my husband about what I read and write, about everything really. I don't think he really 'gets' my attraction to writing gay romance, but he supports me in whatever I do, even if he won't read it.
 

My Dh isn't much of a reader, so he doesn't care what I read or write about. His main concern is: are you making any money at it?
 

Huh, that sounds like right from my hubbies mouth... "What's your cheque this month?"

He has his porn, I have mine, occasionally we watch some of his together as he is so not on the gay train when it comes to porn, mores the pity. Guess I will just have to put away my crisco and gloves.
