  Help Defend P&E--veinglory

The author warning site Preditors and Editors is being sued. [edited].

From their site: "Help Defend P&E: Unfortunately, there are those who do not like P&E or its editor because we give out information that they would prefer remain hidden from writers. Usually, they slink away, but not this time. P&E is being sued and we are asking for donations to mount a legal defense in court. Please click on the link below and give if you can to help protect P&E so it can continue to defend writers as it has for the past eleven years."

Paypal donation button here.

Edited to add: Okay, so maybe there is more to this than I am aware of? Any info?

Edited again to add:
It seems like this suit has a personal (?) element. So I will leave you to make your own judgment.

OH HELL! Are you serious?? I'll repost..... I'll see what I can do for a donation.

That is just... ridiculous.

Ok, deleted because Kayleigh stands corrected. This is not about the situation I assumed it was about.

Can someone link me to more info because I don't have any details about this.

I don't have links, just personal knowledge about one situation (which apparently is not the cause of the lawsuit) and some rumormill gossip about what I suspect is the lawsuit material. ;)

It's on the link you have.

There's discussion about the filed suit, and then a counter suit. I'm not sure of the reason behind the suit. That wasn't given, unless I missed it.

But after reading the many articles about PA, I can probably hit close to the mark that P&E has just hit too close to home too many times with their information.

Just my guess.

Hmm...I can't access that forum. Crap.

And I'm 0 for 2. It's not about the other thing I thought it was about, either! lol.

I'm sorry Dave has to go through this. If it wasn't for his advice I might still be hesitant about taking legal actions again an e publisher who owes me money and is withholding rights to one of my books. He's even added a Not Recommended notation to this publishers on the P&E site. Hopefully this will help spare other authors the same headache.

P&E provides a great service to authors. If an e publisher doesn't want to be singled out negatively all they have to do is do right by their authors.

Dave absolutely, 100% does not deserve this. It's a farce.

Dear Author has the dish. From what little is given, it looks like Dave in a recent comment on P&E about Vic suggested vaguely that Vic "infringed" on a contract and urged anyone who had problems with such lawyers to lodge a report with relevant authorities.

I like P&E but I also wish that he is more specific at times as to why he tags a publisher as "Not Recommended" - sometimes no reason is given, just the tag. Likewise, I wish he has explained a little bit more how Vic "infringed" (breached?) this mysterious contract.

Renee, that's a lie and you know it.

Smart Bitches has a bit more of an explanation.
