Online Happenings--veinglory
The Harlequin Romance Report survey is open for responses. As is usually the case I found it pretty much impossible to answer and ended up leaving most of the answers blank.
The 2009 EPPIE categories are out, with the usual tinkering.

I don't get it. For decades now romance readers are trying to battle the perception that they are not lovelorn desperate women living out their fantasies vicariously through romance novels. And here comes a stupid survey like that? Asking people about "perfect love"? How come I don't see any surveys asking science-fiction fans how many UFOs they have glimpsed in the last year?
I feel my brain shrinking just reading through the first three pages and I feel myself die inside when I see that "Fantasy meets reality" thing.
What does all this have to do with romance novels? Or is Harlequin branching out to women's magazines now?
