Bulletin: Triskelion print books still 'first sale' circulation?

A couple of Triskelion books have been spotted in a Borders store. I emailed Borders Customer Care to ask on what basis they were being sold and who would receive the profit. This query has apparently been sent "to the research team for the answer." Does anyone know more about the ultimate disposition of Triskelion's left over stock? Have you seen them in bookstores recently?

It is rumored that Siren Publishing has won the bid for the Triskelion contracts as listed in the bankruptcy proceedings (this list was apparently not accurate or complete). And that all the contractual rights included in the bid will be returned to the authors.

Triskelion

DearAuthor have a good summary of what is going on with the Triskelion bankruptcy. One crucial detail is that there is only about $800 in unpaid royalties on the record. I suspect more than that is outstanding and would encourage writers to pursue outstanding amounts even if they are small. Documenting the debt should be possible without incurring significant expenses. If any money is going to be recovered authors should get their fair share--and the extent of the shortfall should be made public.

Triskelion Closing

Apparently another epublisher is going under. I've seen several emails today stating that Triskelion is going out of business. The website is supposed to stay up until July 2nd, and then it will be gone.

Trouble at Trisk...

There is a little smoke hovering over the Triskelion camp which is going through a transition. For more info see the lengthy post at Piers Anthony and this thread at the Absolute Write Water Cooler. Rumours suggest books that were going to print within weeks have been pulled or delayed and the print option may be withdrawn altogether.

[Edited to Add] ... and this thread at Romance Divas.

[Edited to add] On a side note it seems to me a danger of encouraging authors to pay for their own advertising is that changes in scheduling and release formats leads to authors bearing a financial cost rather than just being slightly inconvenienced?

[NEWS] Good News for Loose Id

Rumor has it that Loose Id will soon announce that they have acheived Romance Writers of America (RWA) recognition. This makes them only the second publisher on our list to acheive that status (the other being alpha-epublisher Ellora's Cave) although several others are in the process.

Edited to Add: Actually I see Loose Id is the third, Triskelion is also recognized :) see a full list of RWA recognised publishers here

The Sales Figure Project

Hi all!

I continue to encourage writers to email me (veingloryATgmail.com) confidentially with sales figures for erotic romance ebooks. I am particularly interested, at this time, in hearing about sales at Mardis Gras and Triskelion.

All I need to get started is first month sales--where available also first year, total to date, and sales to the end of the contract (for each book, by publisher). All figures are strictly anonymous and no names are stored in the database.

So far only a few figures are posted because although I have data for over fifty books I only post the average figures for each publisher when I have a minimum of five books by a minimum of three different authors.

I am also tracking overall average figures which will be calculated over the last 100 books reported. These give some idea of typical sales in this genre regardless of publisher--shown below. If the industry is going well (from the writer's point of view) these should be going onward and upward!
